Job summary

Vertiv in Bologna, Italy, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer MV to join the Mechanical R&D and Industrialization team. You will drive mechanical development and industrialization of power converters, from architecture to production release, collaborating with electrical, product, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires a degree in mechanical engineering, 3+ years in electromechanical design, and proficiency in PTC Creo.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical design experience in electromechanical environments.
• Experience with power converters or other power electronics equipment is a plus.
• Experience with medium-voltage systems is a strong advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop the mechanical architecture of new power converters and robust design solutions.
• Create and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
• Design sheet-metal parts, frames, busbar supports, cooling interfaces, and enclosures.
• Plan prototype builds, tests, and production readiness activities.
• Lead mechanical industrialization, tooling, and ramp-up support.
