Baker Hughes in Italy is seeking a Materials Engineer with a strong background in Materials Science and Technology to lead complex material investigations, testing, and failure analyses for turbomachinery components in development, installation, and field service environments.

You will collaborate with Design Engineering and Root Cause Analysis teams to correlate operational data with lab findings, ensuring product reliability, HSE compliance, and continuous improvement.

Competenze

• MSc in Materials Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical or related field.
• At least 2 years in materials engineering, lab testing, or failure analysis.
• Expertise in metallic materials, special processes, testing methods, fractography and materials behaviour.
• Proficiency with lab equipment: optical microscope, SEM/EDS, tensile and hardness testing machines.
• Knowledge of ISO and Nadcap standards.
• Strong written and spoken English skills.
• Willingness for occasional international travel.

Mansioni

• Execute laboratory activities and issue documentation per procedures and QMS requirements.
• Review testing and failure analysis requests for completeness and documentation.
• Collect, digitalize, manage, and analyze materials property data.
• Collaborate with Root Cause Analysis teams to gather design and operational information.
• Perform complex laboratory examinations, investigations and failure analyses.
• Review and validate laboratory technicians' activities and results.
• Develop, update, and apply laboratory procedures and methods.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
• Support continuous improvement of lab methods, equipment, and data management.
