Prysmian is seeking a Materials Engineer in Milan with a focus on materials characterization, development, and optimization for cable technologies. You will support experiments, data analysis, and reporting to drive material performance and reliability across products.

The role requires a degree in polymer or materials science with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in characterization and microscopy, plus a collaborative, problem-solving mindset for a hybrid work environment.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science or Materials Science.
• 3–5 years of experience in polymer materials characterization and microscopy.
• Experience with extrusion or injection molding is a nice to have.
• Solid understanding of polymer physics, chemistry, and structure-property relationships.

Mansioni

• Perform advanced polymer morphological characterization to identify dispersion and distribution of polymeric and inorganic phases.
• Correlate polymer structure with chemical-physical, rheological, and electrical properties of compounds.
• Conduct comparative analyses to support material development, troubleshooting, and product optimization.
• Analyze, interpret, and model complex multi‑technique datasets.
• Generate clear technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for R&D and engineering teams.
• Actively support development of optimized material formulations and manufacturing processes for cable products.
