Job summary

Ruby Group is seeking a hands-on maintenance leader to establish and guide the technical services department across Southern Europe, maintaining high standards for hotels and workspaces. The role combines leadership with field travel to oversee multiple properties.

The ideal candidate has an apprenticeship in building services engineering and several years of managerial experience, preferably abroad, and is fluent in English and Italian. Hybrid work and international mobility are offered.

• Several years’ managerial experience; international properties preferred.
• Fluent in English and Italian; other European languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and expand the department and ensure quality assurance and standardisation of technical and safety-related processes.
• Oversee hotels in Southern Europe and maintain high standards.
• Manage technical building services at hotel and workspace locations; optimise maintenance and plan repairs.
• Act as the point of contact for hotel technicians; train them and review workflows.
• Ensure maintenance work, repairs and new installations are cost-effective, on time and to standard.
• Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and safety requirements.
• Draft service contracts, review terms, obtain quotes, and handle insurance claims.

The central Maintenance Section within the Technical Services Department manages the technical building services in the hotels and workspaces and is responsible, amongst other things, for their maintenance and all technical and safety-related processes.

• will be responsible for establishing and expanding the department, as well as for quality assurance and standardisation of all technical and safety-related processes
• oversee some of our hotels in Southern Europe and ensure that they are maintained to a high standard
• manage the technical building services at the hotel and workspace locations, oversee the optimisation of their maintenance, and plan repair work as required
• will act as the point of contact for our hotel technicians, train them, deliver training sessions, and review and optimise operational and building services workflows
• ensure that maintenance work, repairs and new installations are carried out cost-effectively, on time and to the required standard
• monitor compliance with relevant laws, regulations, rules, inspection deadlines, as well as occupational health and safety requirements
• will help draft service contracts, review contract terms, obtain quotes and handle claims with insurance companies

We've Been Waiting For You, Since You Have/are

• successfully completed an apprenticeship in building services engineering
• several years’ professional and managerial experience in a similar field; ideally, you will also have managed properties abroad
• enjoy being on the go and are keen on travelling
• a good knowledge of building services engineering and control and measurement technology
• a professional manner, and loyalty and integrity come naturally to you
• solve problems independently and creatively, whilst taking business considerations into account
• excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and, thanks to your structured approach to work and organisational skills, you enjoy keeping track of everything
• are fluent in English and Italian; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage
