Job summary

The City of Attleboro is seeking a qualified Maintenance Repairman for its Wastewater Treatment Plant. Under the general supervision of the Superintendent and the direction of the Foreman or Working Foreman, the Maintenance Repairman is responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment and vehicles used at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, including sewer lift stations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in a municipal wastewater treatment facility, including experience in vehicle and instrument repair.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment plant equipment, with extensive experience in instrument repair and a working knowledge of gauges, pumps, and valves.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle repair.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs equipment associated with the Wastewater Treatment Plant and sewer lift stations, including pumps, piping, valves, motors, chlorinating equipment, and filter beds.
• Lubricates, oils, and repacks pumps and other machinery.
• Operates machinery and equipment as necessary to perform maintenance and repairs, including during emergency situations.
• Performs repairs on motor vehicles.
• Maintains accurate logs of all equipment maintenance and repair work performed.
• May supervise a small crew of less-skilled employees assigned to a specific project.

Salary Range: $26.15 - $32.62 per hour

The City of Attleboro is seeking a qualified Maintenance Repairman for its Wastewater Treatment Plant. Under the general supervision of the Superintendent and the direction of the Foreman or Working Foreman, the Maintenance Repairman is responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment and vehicles used at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, including sewer lift stations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs equipment associated with the Wastewater Treatment Plant and sewer lift stations, including pumps, piping, valves, motors, chlorinating equipment, and filter beds.
• Lubricates, oils, and repacks pumps and other machinery.
• Operates machinery and equipment as necessary to perform maintenance and repairs, including during emergency situations.
• Performs repairs on motor vehicles.
• Maintains accurate logs of all equipment maintenance and repair work performed.
• May supervise a small crew of less-skilled employees assigned to a specific project.
• Participates in the City's snow and ice control program.
• Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in a municipal wastewater treatment facility, including experience in vehicle and instrument repair.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment plant equipment, with extensive experience in instrument repair and a working knowledge of gauges, pumps, and valves.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle repair.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualification: Welding experience is helpful.
