Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in La Spezia, Italy, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to ensure efficiency, safety and continuity of production plants and infrastructure. You will coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, minimize downtime and optimize costs in a dynamic industrial environment.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of mechanics, electrical engineering, industrial automation, and PLC systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings.
• Excellent knowledge of maintenance management software and diagnostic tools.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with key measuring and inspection instruments.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Good command of English, both for professional communication and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule routine and preventive maintenance activities.
• Manage extraordinary maintenance and breakdown interventions, minimizing machine and plant downtime.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in compliance with applicable regulations and procedures.
• Set priorities based on criticality, safety requirements, and production needs.
• Define specifications for RFPs related to machinery procurement, overhauls, and works.
• Perform technical evaluations of proposals submitted by external suppliers.
• Supervise external technicians during maintenance and repair activities.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, revamping projects, and plant modifications.
• Verify the efficiency, reliability, and safety of machinery and equipment.
• Select and use appropriate diagnostic tools.
• Maintain and update technical documentation (drawings, manuals, schematics).
• Collaborate with Health & Safety Manager to ensure safety compliance.
• Verify plant compliance with standards and regulations.
• Prepare and monitor the maintenance budget.
• Monitor maintenance costs, analyze variances, and support investments.
• Select and evaluate maintenance service providers.
• Supervise activities performed by external contractors.
• Verify compliance of interventions and related certifications.
• Analyze failure data and implement preventive solutions.
• Propose improvements to equipment, facilities, and maintenance processes.
• Support and liaise with public inspection authorities during inspections.
