AXA XL is seeking a seasoned Head of Underwriting Property, Energy & Construction for Italy. Lead the PEC underwriting team, shape strategy and deliver sustainable growth and profitability while collaborating with Distribution, Claims and risk teams.

The role reports to the Italy Country Manager and maintains a functional line to the CUO Property, Energy & Construction at European level, operating within an international, matrix structure.

Competenze

• Extensive experience in property, energy & construction underwriting and P&C insurance.
• Proven leadership of a ~15-person team.
• Ability to operate in an international, matrix environment.
• Excellent written and spoken Italian and English.

Mansioni

• Lead, develop and empower the PEC underwriting team, fostering collaboration and growth.
• Define and implement underwriting strategy to achieve premium, profitability and cost-control targets.
• Oversee portfolio quality, underwriting process, risk assessment, pricing, policy wording and renewals.
• Develop profitable growth opportunities and support client retention per unit priorities.
• Strengthen relationships with brokers, clients and risk managers and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Collaborate with Distribution, Middle Office, Claims, Risk Consulting and Captive teams to ensure service and solutions.
• Represent AXA XL in the market and coordinate stakeholders locally and regionally.
• Contribute to the Italy Leadership Team and cross-functional initiatives.
