Jobsora is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer - MVDC in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. You will lead the design and development of MVDC power conversion systems from concept through qualification, owning converter design end-to-end, topology selection, simulation, hardware design, and validation.

You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with systems, controls, and mechanical teams to deliver robust MVDC solutions for grid-scale and industrial applications.

Competenze

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering; MSc/PhD advantageous.
• 5+ years in power electronics design, with MV (>3kV DC) experience.
• Strong grasp of MV converter topologies, series device operation, HV insulation design.
• Hands-on lab experience with high-voltage tests and safety practices.

Mansioni

• Design and develop MVDC converters (DC/DC, AC/DC) at MV levels (3kV–35kV).
• Topology evaluation and selection of modular multilevel, DAB, ISOP/IPOS architectures.
• Simulation and modelling (PLECS, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Insulation coordination and HV design considerations at MV levels.
• Lab prototyping, high-voltage testing and design verification.
• Support standards compliance (IEC 61800, IEC 62477, IEEE 1709).
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and strategy.
