Ampere Recruitment is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer for MVDC projects in Bologna, Italy. You will lead end-to-end MVDC converter design, topology selection, simulation, and hardware validation, collaborating with systems, controls and mechanical teams while mentoring engineers.

You should have a MSc/PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) and 5+ years in medium-voltage power electronics, focusing on MVDC architectures, high-voltage insulation and SiC/IGBT platforms.

Competenze

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (MSc/PhD advantageous).
• 5+ years in power electronics design, with demonstrable MV (>3kV DC) experience.
• Strong grasp of MV converter topologies and high-voltage insulation design.

Mansioni

• Design and develop MVDC converters (3kV–35kV class).
• Topology evaluation and selection for MVDC systems.
• Power stage design including semiconductor selection (SiC MOSFETs, IGBTs).
• Simulation and modelling using PLECS, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink.
• Insulation coordination and creepage/clearance at MV levels.
