Job summary

Shamrock Foods Company is seeking a Maintenance Lead for Verona, VA, to oversee a team of technicians responsible for maintaining high-speed dairy processing, packaging, and utility equipment. The role emphasizes safety, preventative maintenance, and proactive problem solving.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in industrial maintenance, leadership experience, and strong knowledge of dairy systems, with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree or apprenticeship preferred.
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• 2+ years in maintenance leadership or supervision preferred.
• Experience in dairy, food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of dairy processing systems (HTST/UHT, CIP, homogenizers, pumps, sanitary valves, heat exchangers).

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support a team of maintenance technicians.
• Plan, prioritize, and assign daily maintenance work to maximize uptime.
• Maintain and repair dairy processing, packaging, utility, and automation equipment.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and identify failures.
• Coordinate maintenance with Production, Quality, and Sanitation teams.
• Provide technical guidance for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control issues.
• Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for recurring failures.
• Monitor equipment performance metrics to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with food safety programs (SQF, HACCP, GMP) and safety rules.
• Execute preventative maintenance schedules via CMMS; support startups and shutdowns.
• Train and develop technicians to advance technical skills.
