JDL Recruitment in Milan, Lombardy, Italy, seeks a Senior Contracts Manager to lead contract and commercial management on data centre projects from inception to completion. The role requires strong negotiation, risk and stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration with delivery teams.

Based in Milan, you will draft and review contracts, manage change, oversee governance and reporting, and work with Legal and Procurement to optimise cost and performance.

Competenze

• 10+ years' experience delivering data centres or complex engineering projects.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Professional qualification or chartered status.
• Expert knowledge of contract management, construction and commercial management.
• Experience on client side delivery of pre and post contract activities.
• Experience on global projects and multicultural teams.
• Experience building strategic relationships across the supply chain.
• Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder collaboration.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

Mansioni

• Provide contract and commercial management on complex engineering projects from inception to completion, supporting delivery teams.
• Draft, review and manage all contracts across data centre construction projects, including vendor, main contract, subcontract and consultant agreements.
• Lead contract negotiations with vendors, main contractors, subcontractors and consultants to secure favourable terms and risk allocation.
• Develop project specific and portfolio wide contracting approaches.
• Prepare supporting contract and commercial documentation in line with procurement processes and timelines.
• Lead the identification, evaluation and recommendation of contract changes, variations and claims in line with change control processes.
• Administer contracts proactively, drafting and issuing notices and correspondence to maintain governance.
• Provide monthly reporting visibility against each contract and project.
• Identify and evaluate contractual and project risks, developing mitigation strategies for review and approval.
• Develop and implement dispute avoidance strategies and resolve disputes with Legal.
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships, promoting conflict resolution and visibility of performance.
• Collaborate with project management, finance, cost, procurement, governance and legal teams.
• Monitor change and risk impacts on forecast costs against budget, identifying cost reduction opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement of contract and commercial management systems and practices.
• Act as technical expert and provide strategic support to the Senior Director on contract matters.
