KPIT is seeking a Lead Base Software Systems Engineer to support VHIL labs, production, and pre-production plant setups in Italy. The role requires broad embedded software expertise on microcontrollers with hands-on debugging across bootloaders, AUTOSAR middleware stacks, diagnostics, flashing tools, and FOTA processes.

You will act as a first responder in production environments, driving rapid issue resolution for vehicle integration.

Formación

• 5+ years of embedded software development experience with C/C++.
• Strong knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture, OS, DIAG, and MEM stacks.
• Experience configuring MCAL and developing hardware abstraction layers.
• Experience with multicore architectures and functional safety concepts.
• Cybersecurity concepts and HSM configuration experience are a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Debug and triage embedded software issues in Plant, VHIL, and Production setups.
• Travel to production plants and test facilities to support on-site issue resolution.
• Support system bring-up and troubleshooting of bootloaders, AUTOSAR OS, HWIO, COM, DCM, MEM stacks.
• Work on Automotive Ethernet and SOME-IP integration.
• Assist with diagnostic flashing (UDS- and DoIP-based) and plant reprogramming workflows.
• Collaborate with FOTA teams to debug OTA update mechanisms and rollbacks.
• Develop and maintain tools/scripts for log capture, debugging, and flashing workflows.
• Ensure comprehensive diagnostic coverage (UDS, DoIP, SOME/IP, OBD-II) and plant readiness.
• Partner with Base SW, Integration, Cockpit Infotainment, Connectivity, and Plant teams for root-cause analysis.
• Document root causes, workarounds, and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace/Computer Engineering or related field
