JD Logistics is establishing its core infrastructure in Italy, seeking an energetic outbound logistics leader to design and oversee the daily dispatch, route allocation, and vehicle deployment for large-item distribution.

You will lead a dispatch team on the outbound floor, coordinate with internal fleet (1PL) and external carriers (3PL), and drive on-time delivery while safeguarding cargo and ensuring compliance during a greenfield launch in Milan.

Context of the Position

As part of our strategic international expansion, JD Logistics is establishing its core infrastructure within the Italian market. This is a critical greenfield deployment phase, which requires our founding leadership team to manage high operational fluidity, establish local processes from the ground up, and translate centralized global capabilities into localized execution.

This position is designed for an energetic, operationally grounded transport and outbound logistics professional. The role demands an individual who can build and manage an aggressive daily delivery dispatch schedule specifically tailored for heavy, bulky, and high-value consumer goods.

The Mission & Core Scope

• The Mission: Establish, lead, and optimize the daily outbound transport and final delivery execution for the Large Item DC, ensuring that all bulky goods leave the facility safely, on time, and aligned with target customer delivery windows.
• The Scope: You will take direct operational leadership over the outbound distribution floor and delivery routing desk, managing a team of dispatchers while coordinating seamlessly with both our internal dedicated fleet (1PL) and external carrier networks (3PL).

Crucial Expectations & Performance Targets

To provide a clear understanding of the accountability required, the successful candidate will be evaluated on the following key metrics during the initial 6 to 12 months:

• Dispatch Desk & Outbound Setup: Successfully design and implement daily loading, route allocation, and vehicle dispatch protocols for large-item distribution prior to site launch.
• Delivery Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Maintain a high On-Time Delivery (OTD) rate and minimal delivery failure rates by tracking routes in real-time and actively resolving carrier delays.
• Capacity and Fleet Synchronization: Optimize vehicle cubic capacity utilization and coordinate fluid driver shift handovers, minimizing empty miles and loading delays at the bays.
• Transport Quality & Exception Control: Implement strict outbound checking mechanisms to ensure zero loading damages, correct transport documentation compliance, and efficient processing of delivery exceptions or field returns.

Position Requirements

• Greenfield Launch Expertise: You must have a verified background of successfully leading an outbound transport desk, delivery operations team, or cross-docking dispatch function within a fast-paced retail, e-commerce, or industrial logistics hub.
• Bulky Goods Distribution Experience: Proven experience handling heavy freight, large home appliances, or furniture distribution networks, with solid knowledge of vehicle weight limits, secure cargo loading, and transport regulations.
• Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in English and Italian is mandatory to direct local drivers, manage carrier dispatchers, and provide accurate performance reporting to global HQ. Knowledge of Mandarin is a strong asset.
• Operational Flexibility: High adaptability regarding working schedules, early morning dispatch waves, and resolving real-time transit exceptions common to a country-level logistics launch.
