JD Logistics in Milan is seeking an agile operations and procurement professional to lead end-to-end local procurement and site-readiness for the Milan facilities, bridging between global HQ and local execution during a greenfield deployment.

You will manage localized purchasing, vendor selection, and admin setup, ensure alignment with Spanish operations and corporate guidelines, and drive KPI tracking and continuous supply-chain improvements.

Context of the Position

As part of our strategic international expansion, JD Logistics is establishing its core infrastructure within the Italian market. This is a greenfield deployment phase, which requires our founding leadership team to manage high operational fluidity, establish local processes from the ground up, and translate centralized global capabilities into localized execution.

This position is designed for an agile, highly resourceful operations and procurement professional who will serve as the critical execution link between our global headquarters and the physical deployment of our Milan facilities.

The Mission & Core Scope

• The Mission: Take immediate ownership of the end-to-end local procurement and site-readiness phase to secure all necessary assets for the launch, subsequently transitioning into a permanent operational support and efficiency role.
• The Scope: You will manage localized purchasing, vendor selection, and administrative setup for the Milan sites, ensuring seamless operational alignment and fluent communication between the local Spanish operations and global HQ stakeholders.

Crucial Expectations & Performance Targets

To provide a clear understanding of the accountability required, the successful candidate will be evaluated on the following key metrics during the initial 6 to 12 months:

• Immediate Launch Procurement: Successfully source, negotiate, and secure 100% of the site's critical indirect supplies (including warehouse consumables, IT hardware, PDAs, safety equipment, and facility management services) to ensure an on-time go-live.
• Vendor Network Architecture: Establish a robust ecosystem of reliable, cost-effective Spanish industrial suppliers and contractors, ensuring alignment with corporate compliance and budgetary guidelines.
• Post-Launch Operational Continuity: Seamlessly transition from launch procurement into ongoing operational support, tracking site KPIs, managing continuous resource optimization, and resolving supply-chain bottlenecks on the floor.
• Cross-Border Communication Bridge: Maintain real-time, accurate technical reporting and alignment between the Milan localized operations and centralized corporate teams.

Position Requirements

• Greenfield Launch Expertise: You must have a verified background of successfully supporting a site launch, corporate relocation, or comprehensive facility deployment within a fast-paced corporate or logistics environment.
• Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in English, Italian, and Mandarin is strictly mandatory. You must be fully capable of negotiating with local Italian suppliers while managing technical and financial alignments with Chinese-speaking headquarters.
• Operational Flexibility: High adaptability regarding task prioritization, hands‑on problem solving, and evolving project timelines inherent to a country-level infrastructure launch.
• Problem-Solving Capabilities: Strong commercial negotiation skills, resourcefulness, and a proven track record of delivering purchasing and operational results under tight deadlines.
