Job summary

IMI in Lombardia invites a Junior Area Sales Manager to join its Industrial Automation team. You will learn from experienced Area Managers, build strong technical and commercial knowledge, and progressively take ownership of assigned customers and opportunities from a remote-based location in Italy.

You will travel ~4 days per week with occasional overnight stays and aim to become a trusted commercial contact while supporting forecasting and account planning within a collaborative global

Role Overview

This junior role is your chance to learn from and support the Industrial Automation sales team by working alongside experienced Area Managers, building strong technical and commercial knowledge of IMI solutions and progressively taking over ownership of assigned customers and opportunities. You are going to develop into a trusted commercial point of contact for our customers and be a reliable contributor internally, with a clear path toward full Area Manager responsibility.

Location: Italy, remote-based. Ideally located somewhere between "Milano - Bergamo - Brescia". Travel: Average 4 days per week including occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced Area Managers, joining customer visits and supporting the management and development of assigned accounts.
• Build strong technical and commercial knowledge of IMI Industrial Automation solutions, applications and value propositions.
• Develop a clear understanding of customer processes, technical needs and business priorities through active listening and structured discovery.
• Progressively take ownership of customer relationships, commercial activities and opportunities within the assigned area.
• Maintain accurate and timely customer, activity, opportunity and pipeline information in Salesforce CRM (SFDC).
• Support and rapidly assume responsibility for forecasting activities, working closely with the Area Managers to ensure reliable and transparent forecasts.
• Prepare account plans, visit reports, opportunity updates and concise risk summaries with clear actions, owners and dates.
• Progress opportunities with clear next steps, coordinate follow-up actions and elevate hurdles early to protect customer timelines.
• Collaborate effectively with Application Engineering, Customer Experience and Operations to develop solutions and close the loop on customer commitments.

• Technical Curiosity & Learning Agility
• Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, electromechanics or control systems
• Fluent Italian and very good English
