Job summary

The Mall Simon Luxury Outlets, based in Milan, seeks a Junior Accountant to support the Finance team in managing accounting activities across the group. You will work closely with all departments and contribute to the development of the Finance function.

You will handle AP/AR flows, payments, GL entries, and monthly requirements, assisting with budget monitoring and ad-hoc reporting. English knowledge is required; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Economics, Accounting or similar studies is required.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive, ethical and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable/receivable and payments.
• Process vendor invoices, bank movements and GL entries.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities with ad-hoc analyses.
• Reconcile vendor and customer accounts and maintain files.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure proper PO, invoicing and approvals.
• Assist monthly closing and SOX-related activities.

Your opportunity

The Mall Simon Luxury Outlets is currently seeking a new Junior Accountant, based in the Milan office and reporting to the Accounting Manager. The Junior Accountant will support the Finance team in managing accounting activities across The Mall Simon Luxury Outlets, working closely with all departments and contributing to the effective development of the Finance function.

How you will contribute

You will be in charge for the accounting payable/receivable flow, payments, bank movements and preparation of the monthly requirements, collaborate also the accounting team in the daily based activities.

• Managing vendor invoices and payment’s approval flow
• Book vendor invoices, bank movements and other general ledger entries (period end postings and accruals, depreciation, etc.)
• Cooperate with the team and other departments in order to follow the correct procedure for purchase orders, payments and invoices.
• Help the controlling team in monitoring the Budget/forecast, tracking all invoices and providing details if needed
• Clearing of vendor accounts and monitoring old items
• Preparing ad-hoc reports or analysis at the request of management or other teams
• Cooperating with controlling department to support the monthly reporting and budget/forecast activities
• Issue customer invoices and reconcile general ledger A/R accounts
• Keeping accounting and finance archive updated and organized
• Work together with the other team members to ensure deliverables and timings, also supporting other accounting activities.
• Support in SOX activities
• Identify potential improvement in accounting process (ex.: automation..)

Qualifications

• Degree in Economics, Accounting or similar studies

• You have understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulation.
• Basic knowledge of accounting, invoicing procedures, budget and electronic invoicing flow
• You are highly organized and detail oriented
• You are dynamic, proactive, flexible and team player
• You have high ethical standards, integrity and high level of discretion
• You are excellent expert user MS Office Suite
• Good user of an accounting ERP (knowledge of Oracle Netsuite is a plus)
• Knowledge of English both spoken and written; French knowledge will be considered a plus
