Evolus in Milan, Italy is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our International team. You will process invoices (AP/AR), assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting, and support internal controls and SOX compliance across international operations.

The ideal candidate has a university degree in accounting or finance, familiarity with Italian GAAP or IFRS, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams while driving process improvements.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Junior Accountant to join our growing International team based in Milan. This role plays a critical role in the daily financial management of our international operations, with a focus on driving process improvements and supporting scalable growth. You’ll be responsible for processing invoices (AP/AR) and assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting. You’ll also work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial operations that support business performance. We’re seeking someone with a solid foundation in financial accounting—ideally with experience in reporting under Italian GAAP or IFRS—and a willingness to get involved at all levels. In this role, you will be challenged to drive the success of Evolus in an effort to build a brand like no other.

Let’s talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:

• Manage daily cash reconciliations, including allocating an increasing volume of customer receipts.
• Support the Accounts Payable (AP) function by:
• Recording and reconciling vendor transactions
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies in vendor statements
• Ensuring expenses are accurately recognized and recorded in the general ledger
• Preparing weekly AP payments and forecasting cash outflows
• Producing ad-hoc reports for management as needed
• Maintaining vendor accounts (e.g. supporting new vendor setup, reviewing payment terms, and updating records)
• Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reviews for both balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Support external audits and annual statutory accounts, where required across international territories.
• Assist with the implementation and execution of SOX-compliant procedures to ensure strong internal controls.
• Prepare accurate and timely journal entries.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather financial data, building effective working relationships across departments.
• Get involved in finance and accounting projects, contributing to ongoing initiatives and improvements.
• Take ownership of your tasks, with a focus on documenting detailed workflows for clarity and consistency.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, offering ideas and helping to drive efficiencies in your areas of responsibility.

Skills and Qualifications Required for this Dynamic Team Member:

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g. Dottore Commercialista, or in progress) is a plus
• Experience in a SOX-compliant or US-listed company environment is desirable
• Previous experience in a similar role or within a fast-paced, international organization is a plus — but not essential
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Clear and effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative mindset
• Comfortable working independently, using initiative and good judgment
• Engaging and team-oriented, thrives in small, cross-functional environments
