Job summary

ERM is seeking a Financial Controller for Italy (Milan) in a hybrid role. You will own local financial control framework, statutory reporting, and governance, collaborating with the GDC, auditors, tax advisers, and business leaders.

You will drive controls, review balance sheet reconciliations, ensure compliance with Italian GAAP, and support VAT and regulatory requirements. This leadership position offers exposure to a multinational professional services environment and finance transformation

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
• Significant experience in financial controllership, accounting, audit, or finance management.
• Strong knowledge of Italian GAAP, statutory reporting and compliance.
• Experience managing external audits and regulatory relationships.
• Fluent Italian and English (C1).
• Experience in a multinational or professional services environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive and oversee the overall financial controls environment.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and positions prepared by the GDC.
• Identify risks and opportunities in financial reporting and advise leadership.
• Ensure adherence to ERM policies, controls, and accounting standards.
• Lead statutory accounting activities and local regulatory compliance.
• Maintain oversight of local statutory books and reporting obligations.
• Support VAT and other local compliance requirements with specialist teams.
• Lead statutory, tax, and financial audits; coordinate with external auditors.
• Provide accounting guidance and judgement on complex transactions and policies.
• Collaborate with Finance Directors, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, HR and operations; deliver insights.
• Contribute to finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
