Job summary

Customs Support Group in Genova, Italy, seeks an experienced R2R Team Lead to manage the centralized Italian record‑to‑report function, ensuring ledger accuracy and timely monthly closings across Italian entities. This high‑visibility role combines operational leadership with advanced accounting and finance transformation.

You will work closely with the Finance Controller and senior stakeholders, driving standardisation, automation of close workflows and the ERP rollout of Microsoft Dynamics 365

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in audit, accounting, R2R, general ledger accounting, accounting advisory or controllership.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and balance sheet/P&L expertise.
• Experience with month-end close, audit documentation and internal controls.
• Fluent English with ability to interact with international stakeholders (Italian language beneficial).
• Experience leading a team through finance transformation and ERP changes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support the Italian R2R team, ensuring ownership and high-quality delivery.
• Coordinate monthly closing across Italian legal entities with GL specialists.
• Align sub-ledgers with the general ledger through P2P and O2C collaboration.
• Escalate and resolve complex accounting issues in Group/Italian GAAP.
• Manage VAT declarations and statutory reporting including Intrastat.
• Support audit readiness and balance sheet integrity with cross‑functional teams.
• Drive process optimisation, standardisation and automation of close workflows.
• Lead GL migration for newly acquired entities and ensure sustainable improvements.
