Marsh Risk in Milan is seeking an Insurance Asset Valuation Consultant to join the Forensic Accounting and Claims Services (FACS) team. You will collect data, inspect assets, and estimate values for insurance and tax purposes, delivering reports that support risk management and decision making.

Candidates have a technical degree, asset valuation experience, fluency in Italian and English, and strong project management skills. Travel within Italy and abroad is expected.

Insurance Asset Valuation Consultant Risk Consulting is looking for candidates as Asset Valuation Consultants to join our Forensic Accounting and Claims Services (FACS) based in Milan. Risk Consulting is a management consulting firm that provides risk management services as part of Marsh Risk, a leader in insurance brokerage and head of the international Marsh Group, a group of expertise in strategic and management consulting, reinsurance, human capital, and investments (Oliver Wyman, Guy Carpenter, Mercer). The Forensic Accounting and Claims Services (FACS) area provides insurance loss‑adjusting advisory services on behalf of clients, with the aim of determining the damage incurred and ensuring the correct indemnity payable by insurers. In addition, it supports the accurate valuation of assets, making a tangible contribution to risk management and strategic decision‑making.

We will count on you to:

• Understanding client needs, initiating data collection and preliminary analysis, and preparing an appropriate commercial proposal.
• Collecting, validating, and structuring large data sets for real estate and asset valuation.
• Conducting site inspections of assets to be valued, gathering the necessary evidence and information
• Estimating the value of buildings, plants, machinery, and equipment for insurance purposes (replacement cost, new replacement value, current value) and for tax purposes (market value, fair value, etc.).
• Preparing accurate, verifiable, and unbiased valuation reports in line with industry standards and professional best practices.
• Preparing and presenting structured, clear, and usable valuation reports for insurance, accounting, and legal purposes.
• Managing and developing client relationships, providing specialized technical support for their risk management strategies.
• Working independently and as part of project teams, meeting project deliverables, milestones, and deadlines.
• Ensuring quality, governance, and consistency of valuation data, in compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
• Using data management and analysis tools (workflow, data cataloging, report automation) to improve operational efficiency and valuation accuracy.

What you need to have:

• Degree in a technical discipline, preferably civil or mechanical engineerin.
• Proven experience in asset valuation, preferably in insurance, financial, or risk management contexts
• Fluent in written and spoken Italian and English
• Excellent project management skills, customer orientation, and a strong teamwork attitude
• Willingness to travel within Italy and abroad
• High attention to detail, ability to synthesize information, and critical thinking
• In-depth knowledge of construction types, process equipment, machinery, and common equipment
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Power Query and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI or equivalent)
• Familiarity with data analysis and modeling tools, and potential AI applications to improve efficiency and accuracy

What we offer:

• The position is offered on a permanent basis.
• We propose a gross annual salary starting from € 36.000 for a full-time position. Depending on experience, skills and qualifications, we are willing to consider compensation above the starting salary. Variable remuneration may be granted in accordance with company policy.
