Job summary

WSP in Italia seeks a Civil Hydraulic Engineer to join the Power & Energy Services team in Rome or Rende. You will contribute to hydraulic and hydrological studies, analyses and design activities for infrastructure, industrial, energy and water-resources projects.

You will collaborate with civil, structural, geotechnical, environmental and BIM specialists, integrating solutions and supporting discussions with clients and authorities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with hydraulics focus.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in hydraulic design, applied hydrology or water management.
• Sound knowledge of hydrology, river hydraulics, urban drainage, hydraulic modelling methodologies, Italian standards, and flood-risk management; ability to produce clear reports.
• Experience with hydrological and hydraulic modelling software (HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS/EPA SWMM) and AutoCAD; GIS; MS Office; knowledge of InfoWorks ICM, MIKE FLOOD, TUFLOW, FLO-2D; BIM tools.
• Professional proficiency in Italian and English languages.
• Operational autonomy, accuracy, analytical thinking and multidisciplinary mindset.
• Preferred: flood studies experience and professional registration in Italy.

Responsibilities

• Develop hydrological and hydraulic studies for various design stages.
• Create 1D/2D hydraulic models of watercourses and drainage networks.
• Design hydraulic infrastructure like channels, crossings and basins.
• Review data and prepare technical reports, drawings and calculations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
