Bvlgari, based in Rome, seeks an Archive Manager to safeguard and develop its rich jewelry and heritage archives. You will manage archives, digitization, and access, while guiding external providers and internal teams in best archiving practices.

The role emphasizes IT-enabled archival systems, AI initiatives, and collaboration with researchers and departments to highlight historical collections.

The Heritage department preserves, enriches and promotes the Maison’s historical legacy, transforming its archives into a strategic resource for knowledge, inspiration and creative development. Within this mission, the Heritage Archive Manager will play a central role in safeguarding over 140 years of jewelry, watchmaking and accessories heritage through the collection, classification, digitization, accessibility and valorization of historical and contemporary records, ensuring that Bvlgari’s past continues to inform and inspire its future.

Job responsibilities

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Oversee the processing of historical archives, including inventory, intellectual and physical reclassification, and the preparation of ISAD-G-compliant finding aids;
• Coordinate and provide methodological guidance to external service providers involved in archival processing activities;
• Support departments in improving document management practices, defining archival procedures and retention schedules, and training teams on best archiving practices;
• Manage incoming transfers and contribute to the implementation of an electronic archiving system for born-digital records;
• Lead the implementation and monitoring of IT solutions for the physical management and remote consultation of archives, from needs assessment to tendering, supplier evaluation and final selection;
• Coordinate related projects and change management activities, ensuring alignment between archival requirements, business needs and external partners.
• Plan, monitor and quality-control archive digitization campaigns, including image transfer and indexing for consultation and preservation purposes;
• Explore and promote the application of artificial intelligence to archive management, heritage collections, and the post-processing and analysis of oral history interviews;
• Coordinate oral history collection campaigns, from the selection of interviewees and documentary preparation to interview guidelines, provider coordination, and deliverables quality control;
• Conduct and coordinate historical research to support internal requests, host external researchers, and identify complementary archival collections;
• Contribute to the promotion and valorization of the Bvlgari archives and heritage by providing content to be used for the department activities (exhibitions, publications and conferences);
• Present the archives to internal and external audiences.

• Master's degree or equivalent in archival studies, documentation, information science, or a related field
• Knowledge of current archival standards, including ISAD-G and ISAAR
• Knowledge of IT solutions for records management

Additional information

For new joiners in this role in Italy, the initial annual gross salary is EUR 65.000.
This salary has been determined on the basis of objective and gender-neutral criteria and corresponds to the compensation normally granted for this position at the time of publication of this job posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on factors such as your unique combination of experience and skills, seniority, and current organizational needs.
This role also provides for participation in a bonus scheme, at Bvlgari’s discretion, based on factors such as individual and/or company performance.
In addition to the benefits provided by law, further benefits may be granted in accordance with current company policies.
The employment relationship will be governed by the provisions of the applicable national collective bargaining agreement (CCNL) and the supplementary company agreement, as applied by Bvlgari in Italy.
