Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Manager, Pre-Sales Engineering to lead a hub-based team of 10–15 engineers across Bologna, Ireland and Ras Al Khaimah. You will own RFQ intake, solution design and handover to ETO, driving technically robust and commercially viable power solutions.

You will manage resources, maintain technical standards, mentor engineers and ensure timely proposals with high quality deliverables in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering — electrical preferred — or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 10 years in electrical design, pre-sales engineering or integrated solution design.
• At least 3 years in a team leadership/management role.
• Strong command of IEC/IEEE, CE/UKCA and EMEA national codes and standards.
• Hands-on expertise in SLD design, network calculations, protection coordination and arc-flash assessment.
• Solid knowledge of MV switchgear applications and power distribution product lines.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end proposal engineering process from RFQ intake through solution design, feasibility validation, proposal delivery and handover to ETO.
• Lead multidisciplinary solution development across electrical, mechanical, controls and EPMS for Power SKIDs, Power Rooms and data centres.
• Collaborate with factory Engineering and suppliers to validate feasibility, cost and lead time before commercial commitment.
• Act as the technical escalation point for non-standard requirements and architectural decisions.
• Provide technical leadership on complex opportunities, ensuring customer requirements translate into executable, commercially viable solutions.
