Job summary

Belmond is seeking a strategic Engineering & Maintenance leader to oversee 13 hotels in Southern Europe, directing maintenance programs, renovations, and CapEx projects while ensuring safety and guest satisfaction. The role focuses on heritage properties, sustainability, and energy efficiency across a luxury portfolio.

You will mentor the Engineering & Maintenance teams, partner with Design & Construction, and manage external contractors to deliver high-quality, reliable systems across

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering required.
• Master’s degree preferred for senior leadership.
• Experience in large-scale hotel renovations and CapEx management expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering aspects of major renovations and capital expenditure projects from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with Design & Construction to meet engineering specs, budgets and timelines; oversee commissioning.
• Provide leadership to hotel Directors of Engineering and their teams on safety and proactive maintenance.
• Conduct property visits and audits to assess performance and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and manage divisional budgets (CapEx and OpEx) with cost controls and financial accountability.
• Drive energy optimization initiatives and integrate sustainable technologies to reduce environmental impact.
