Job summary

Belmond is seeking a senior Engineering & Maintenance Director to lead the engineering and maintenance division across 13 luxury hotels in Southern Europe. You will drive operational excellence, safety, and guest satisfaction while overseeing maintenance programs, renovations, and CapEx projects with a focus on heritage properties and sustainability.

You will coach hotel engineering teams, partner with Design & Construction, engage external contractors, and manage budgets to ensure high‑quality,

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a senior engineering/maintenance leadership role.
• Bachelor in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Experience with large-scale renovations and CapEx projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering aspects of major renovations and CapEx projects.
• Oversee compliance with safety, energy efficiency, and regulations.
• Coach hotel Directors of Engineering and teams on maintenance best practices.
• Manage divisional budgets (CapEx/OpEx) with cost controls.
• Negotiate contracts and manage external vendors.
