Mandarin Oriental, Milan, located in the heart of Milan, is seeking a Groups Sales & Events Manager to drive groups and events sales and oversee operations within the Events Department.

You will lead site visits, tailor offers to luxury clients, and coordinate with other departments to ensure flawless execution and outstanding guest experiences.

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in groups, events, catering and conference services management or event management.
Excellent communication skills; fluency in English and Italian is required.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to accomplish major responsibilities.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Good team leadership.

Responsibilities

Support the company's philosophy and culture to ensure Guest Satisfaction.
Conduct site visits as per company standards.
Apply a sales approach to every lead with luxury, high-attitude service.
Lead weekly Group/Event meetings with the team and other departments.
Generate Banquet Event Orders, Groups Resumes and business correspondence.
Maintain an active trace system for all assigned groups and ensure data accuracy.
Obtain approvals/permits/insurance certificates for events when required.
Contract business with approved vendors as appropriate.
Develop Sales Team training courses based on current performance.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the Events Department in Milan, the Groups Sales & Events Manager is responsible for groups and events sales and operations. The Groups Sales & Events Manager reports to the Hotel Manager.

As Groups Sales & Events Manager, you willresponsiblefor the following duties:

Support company's philosophy and company culture through the use of Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement;
Carries out site visits as per company standards;
Ensure a “sales” approach in every lead, customizing offers and ensuring that a luxury and positive attitude is always maintained;
Conducts weekly Group/event meetings with the team and other departments;
Generates Banquet Event Orders, Groups Resumes and business correspondence.
Maintain an active trace system for all assigned groups. Compiles all internal database ensuring time efficiency and data accuracy as per MO policies
Obtain necessary approvals/permits/insurance certificates for events that are required
Contract business with approved vendors, as appropriate.
Develop Sales Team training courses based on current performance.

As Groups Sales & Events Manager, weexpectfrom you:

Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in groups, events, catering and conference services manager or event manager; luxury hotel experience, (and City of Milan F&B Knowledge preferably) is strongly preferred;
Excellent communication skills; fluency in English and Italian is required;
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks;
Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
