X-ELIO in Rome or Palermo, Italy is seeking a senior electrical engineer to lead the engineering development and grid integration for utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects across the project lifecycle. You will work with internal teams, consultants, EPCs and grid operators to deliver bankable, technically optimized renewables projects.

The role requires 5+ years in renewable energy engineering, strong HV and grid experience, and fluency in Italian and English.

Competenze

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in renewable energy engineering or grid connection processes.
• Strong experience with utility-scale PV projects, HV lines, and substations; BESS valued.
• Fluent Italian and English.

Mansioni

• Lead engineering activities during development, design, construction and commissioning phases for solar PV and BESS projects.
• Review and validate conceptual, basic and detailed designs prepared by internal teams and external partners.
• Support technology selection, plant layout optimization and due diligence.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards and regulations.
• Lead grid connection strategy and execution in Italy, coordinating with ENEL and TERNA.
• Supervise substations, transmission lines and HV connection infrastructure.
• Coordinate permits, energization and operational readiness.
• Perform techno-economic assessments and CAPEX optimization.
• Review budgets, risks and design assumptions; provide engineering recommendations.
• Support investment decisions and provide interface coordination among EPCs, consultants and suppliers.
• Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning and testing.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.
