Job summary

FAO in Rome seeks a Travel Specialist on a 11-month PSA to oversee travel management functions, policies, data reporting and training. The role reports to the Travel and Transportation Officer and supports global travel agency contracts and online booking tools.

Candidates should hold an advanced degree and five years of experience in corporate travel, data analytics, and project management; proficiency in English, French or Spanish is required.

Qualifications

• Advanced University degree in business administration, public administration, data analytics and management, economics, general administration or related fields.
• For Consultants: bachelor's degree plus two additional years of relevant experience.
• Five years of relevant experience in travel programme management and data reporting.
• Full proficiency in English, French or Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Assist with policy guidelines and travel process requests through the Head of Unit.
• Contribute to the preparation and roll-out of travel trainings for staff.
• Participate in review and monitoring of FAO travel programme in HQ and decentralised offices.
• Generate data, reports and information for management, auditors and governing bodies.
• Support travel projects including global travel agency contracts and online booking tools.
• Track and monitor service issues with contractors and follow up for resolution.
• Assist in identifying travel system issues and drafting requirements for enhancements.
• Support rollout of travel initiatives and capacity-building within user community.
