Job summary

Alstom in Italy seeks a Depot Maintenance Planner to manage planning and scheduling of maintenance activities for trains. You will coordinate with workshop leaders, retrofit and engineering teams, and external contractors, ensuring timely execution and parts availability using SAP.

English proficiency is mandatory for cross-functional collaboration. The role emphasizes prioritization, clear communication, and proactive problem solving to keep trains on schedule and maintain high workshop

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or professional level qualifications in technical areas.
• English language proficiency is mandatory.
• Experience in a process/production environment is required.
• Railways/train systems knowledge is preferred, maintenance basics are needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and prioritize Depot Maintenance activities.
• Report maintenance status and coordinate with teams and external contractors.
• Supervise maintenance on trains in workshop and monitor spare parts availability.
• Ensure tool availability and interface maintenance with workshop infrastructure.
• Balance workload, address problems through planning meetings and SAP.
• Ensure adherence to time slots and report delays and root causes.
• Communicate planning updates across workshop and with stakeholders.
• Analyse delays to improve future performance and coordinate with Supply Chain for parts.
• Create and release work orders for corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain equipment communications within the depot environment.

Responsabilities

• Planning, scheduling and giving maximum priority to Depot Maintenance activities.
• Timing them as first goal.Reporting Depot maintenance activities status and follow up.Interface between maintenance team leaders, retrofit teams, engineering teams and all kind of external company teams.
• Supervision/coordination of maintenance activities on all trains in workshop according to fixed time slots during planning meetings.Keep always a general and updated overview about crucial spare parts availability.
• Being informed about workshop infrastructure status, especially about needed special tool to carry maintenance activity out.
• Check production team workload under control, in order to ensure the best saturation as possible.Managing any problems with extraordinary planning meetings (if required).
• Verification of compliance with time slots planned for all ordinary maintenance train cycle (hand over in, servicing, maintenance, internal cleaning, pre-service check and hand over out).
• Verification of compliance with scheduled departure and arrival time in Depot. Check and reporting of all delay reasons.Translating production and commercial service issue within working orders.Ensuring that all updated planning informations are spread out within workshop in real time mode.
• Playing on the whiteboards in the workshop of the maintenance slots scheduled during the planning meetings.Bringing into default planning items special request coming from all project team and scheduling them using SAP system.Reporting all cumulated delays and root cause of them.
• Analyzing delaying issues in order to better perform in similar future circumstances.Interfacing with Supply Chain team (using meetings and SAP system) to check needed spare parts to be available.Using Indus evaluation KPI to check and optimize Prod workload on shift, according to planning scheduled.
• Attendance to any extraordinary planning meeting to face contingency.Reporting all special activities status within dedicated figures, graphs and gants.Creating and releasing of notification and service orders related to corrective activities and preventive ones, if required.
• Updating of all information equipment (monitor, etc…) necessary for the communication inside de Depot (trains layout, etc..).

Education/Istruzione

• Engineering degree or professional level qualifications in technical areas.

Languages/Lingue

• English mandatory

Experiencies/Esperienze

• Work experience in a process/production environment.

Technical competencies/Competenze tecniche

• Railways and train system instruction/knowledge is preferred.
• Basic Knowledge of the maintenance process is required.

Soft skills/Competenze trasversali

• Good IT skills, especially SAP (CS/PM modules).
• Microsoft Office is requiredExcellent comunication skills.
• Ability to make decisions, sense of urgency: sets priorities and reacts immediately when confrontend with a problem.

RANGE RAL: 31.500 - 42.000 Euro
