Job summary

Bystronic Group is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our Italian team. Based in Italy, you will install, commission and start up Bystronic’s laser cutting, bending and automation technologies across Italy and Europe.

You will diagnose complex issues, program CNC/PLC systems, and train customers to operate and maintain equipment. Expect significant travel across Europe and extended assignments away from home while delivering high-quality installations.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification or degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
• Experience in installation, commissioning or field service engineering
• Experience with CNC/PLC-controlled equipment
• Valid driving licence

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and hand over machines at customer sites across Italy and Europe
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning
• Set up machine software and system integrations and perform software updates
• Provide on-site training and customer support
• Complete installation documentation and service reports in CRM
• Collaborate with European installation and service teams
• Travel extensively, potentially staying away from home for several weeks

As a leading partner for solutions for sheet metal and material processing, we combine laser cutting technology, press brakes, automation, and software with innovative laser applications for new materials and processes.### What you will be doingDue to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our Italian team. Based in Italy, you will support the installation, commissioning and start-up of Bystronic’s latest laser cutting, bending and automation technologies across Italy and Europe.You will become part of our wider European Installation Team, with installation projects coordinated by our team based in Poland. The focus is on staying close to the installation from start to finish, ensuring our customers are successfully up and running before moving on to your next project.**Your responsibilities will include:*** Installing, commissioning and handing over Bystronic machines and solutions at customer sites* Working across laser cutting, bending and automation technology, depending on your experience and expertise* Supporting customer production ramp-up following installation* Assembling and working with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems* Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues during installation and commissioning* Performing CNC/PLC diagnostics, adjustments, software updates and testing* Carrying out machine modifications, updates and retrofits where required* Setting up and integrating machine software and systems* Training customers on machine operation, safety and maintenance* Providing technical advice and support throughout the installation* Completing installation documentation, service reports and customer information within our CRM systems* Working closely with colleagues across our European installation, service and technical support teams* Sharing technical knowledge and supporting the development of other engineersThere will be significant travel as part of the role. While you will support installations within Italy, you will also work across other European countries depending on your expertise and business requirements.
