Job summary

Solenis is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer & Technical Support Specialist to support customers across South Europe, with a primary focus on Italy. This hybrid role is based in Northern Italy and involves regular travel to customer sites and project locations.

Ideal candidates have 3–7 years in field service or technical support, a solid electromechanical background, and fluency in Italian and English.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electromechanical/Automation or related field.
• 3–7 years in Field Service, Technical Support, Maintenance Engineering, or Equipment Service in industrial settings.
• Strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills across electrical, motor, pump, instrumentation, and process equipment.
• Experience in Water Treatment, Food & Beverage, Utilities, or Process Industry sectors.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings; familiarity with PLC-based automation.

Responsibilities

• Install, start-up, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on water treatment equipment at customer sites.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support and diagnostics.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and recommend improvements for reliability.
• Prepare technical and commercial quotations for equipment, parts, services, and upgrades.
• Coordinate service activities with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers and customers.

Position Overview

Solenis is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer & Technical Support Specialist to support customers and commercial activities across the South Europe region, with a primary focus on Italy. This position is ideal for a hands-on technical professional with a strong electromechanical background , experience in Food & Beverage and Industrial Water Treatment applications, and proven ability to manage customer relationships, service activities, and technical-commercial proposals. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of customer installations while supporting business growth through technical expertise and solution-oriented service. This is a hybrid position based in Northern Italy, requiring regular travel throughout the territory.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing installation, start-up, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on industrial water treatment equipment and dosing systems at customer sites.
• Providing technical support and diagnostics, both remotely and on-site, ensuring rapid resolution of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process-related issues.
• Conducting preventive maintenance inspections and recommending improvements to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
• Supporting customers operating in Food & Beverage and Industrial Water Treatment applications.
• Assessing customer needs and identifying opportunities for equipment upgrades, retrofits, and optimization projects.
• Preparing technical and commercial quotations for equipment, spare parts, service interventions, maintenance contracts, and system upgrades.
• Coordinating service activities with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely execution.
• Supporting the Sales and Account Management teams with technical expertise during customer visits and project development.
• Preparing service reports, technical documentation, equipment assessments, and maintenance recommendations.
• Ensuring compliance with Solenis safety standards and customer site requirements during all field activities.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the growth of Solenis' Equipment and Solutions business.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a customer-focused and technically skilled professional with:

• A degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, Automation, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
• 3-7 years of experience in Field Service, Technical Support, Maintenance Engineering, or Equipment Service roles within industrial environments.
• Strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills, including electrical systems, motors, pumps, dosing equipment, instrumentation, and process equipment.
• Experience within Water Treatment, Food & Beverage, Utilities, Process Industry, or related sectors.
• Knowledge of industrial water treatment technologies, chemical dosing systems, filtration systems, pumping equipment, and process instrumentation.
• Experience in preparing and managing technical and commercial offers, service quotations, and project cost estimations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
• Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements in industrial facilities.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Fluency in Italian and a good command of English.
• Availability to travel approximately 50-60% of the time within Italy
• Valid driving license.
