Solenis is seeking a Technical Project Engineer to manage industrial water treatment projects across Europe, with a focus on North Italy. The role is hybrid, requiring field presence and travel across the territory.

You will support engineering, procurement, and service teams, delivering from concept through commissioning while ensuring cost and schedule targets are met.

Qualifications

• Degree in technical engineering with water treatment experience.
• Experience in electrical and automation systems is desirable.
• Fluency in Italian and English is mandatory.
• Willingness to travel ~50% within Italy.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering team from early project stages, clarify scope and technical risks.
• Conduct or supervise onsite surveys, design and system conception balancing CAPEX/OPEX.
• Define project schedules, execution timelines, and staffing needs.
• Prepare technical specs and procedures for project execution with Engineering and Procurement.
• Monitor work, review specs, and coordinate with internal/external teams.
• Inspect construction sites for design compliance and correct installations.
• Lead installation, start-up, commissioning and sign-off.
• Provide technical support on OEM contracts and coordinate resources as needed.
• Manage subcontractor relationships and ensure alignment with standards.
• Support continuous improvement and Solutions Provider strategy.

Technical Project Engineer - Industrial Water Treatment

Location: Hybrid- North Italy
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Collective Labour Agreement: CCNL B2 Tecnico di Processo - Chemical Industry

Solenis is currently seeking a Technical Project Engineer to support the European Equipment Sales strategy for the South Europe region. This role is ideal for a technically strong and field-oriented engineer who enjoys managing complex industrial water treatment projects from concept through commissioning.

This is a hybridposition in North Italy, with regular travel across the territory.

Key Responsibilities

As Technical Project Engineer, you will play a central role in the successful execution of industrial water treatment projects. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Engineering team from the early stages of project opportunities, clarifying scope, identifying technical risks, and defining optimal technical solutions to create competitive advantage.

• Conducting or supervising onsite surveys, basic design, and system conception, ensuring the best balance between CAPEX and OPEX.

• Evaluating technical specifications and purchase order requirements, defining project schedules, execution timelines, and staffing needs.

• Preparing technical specifications and procedures for project execution in collaboration with Engineering, supporting the Procurement team during supplier selection and PO issuance.

• Monitoring work in progress, reviewing project specifications, and coordinating with internal and external Engineering/Service teams.

• Inspecting construction sites to verify compliance with design specifications and correct equipment installation.

• Leading installation, start-up, commissioning activities, and final performance sign-off.

• Providing technical assistance on existing OEM contracts, including troubleshooting and diagnostics, coordinating internal or external resources as needed.

• Managing subcontractor relationships, ensuring alignment with Solenis’ core values and project standards.

• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within Operation & Maintenance contracts and strengthening the company’s Solutions Provider strategy.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a motivated and technically competent professional with:

• A degree in Technical Engineering, with proven experience in water process selection, design, and implementation of industrial water treatment systems (including F&B applications) and chemical injection packages.

• 1–2 years of experience in Electrical and Automation systems is highly desirable.
  Alternatively, Mechanical Engineers with 2–4 years of water treatment experience will also be considered.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, electrical components, material compatibility, and chemical applications.

• Familiarity with control and monitoring instrumentation, both local and remote modes. Digital capabilities are essential for project implementation.

• Awareness of relevant international standards and certifications for equipment construction.

• Fluency in Italian and English (mandatory).

• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time, mainly within Italy.

• Valid driving license.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

The final compensation offer will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and internal compensation guidelines. While the published salary range represents the full pay range for this position, the offer will be tailored to the requirements of the role and the level of experience required for this specific opportunity.
