CATL invites you to join our legend of green energy as an ESS Delivery and Commissioning Engineer. You will transform energy storage system blueprints into safe, reliable operations, overseeing onsite commissioning, testing, and handover for large-scale BESS projects.

You will collaborate with R&D, Quality, and project teams, ensure EHS compliance, and travel extensively to project sites overseas as needed.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or above in a related field.
• Preferred majors include Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or Renewable Energy Technology.
• 1–3 years of experience in electrical equipment commissioning or energy projects.
• Familiarity with electrical systems, BMS/PCS/EMS concepts, and communication protocols (CAN, Modbus).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams; willingness to travel overseas.

• Participate in commissioning, delivery, and acceptance of large-scale BESS projects.
• Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, and defect resolution for battery containers/cabinets and associated systems.
• Assist with commissioning of PCS and EMS and understand their operating principles.
• Support on-site issue analysis, fault diagnosis, and corrective actions with the project team.
• Participate in SAT, grid connection testing, and project acceptance activities.
• Support customer training on system operation and maintenance.
• Track issues through closure and ensure schedule adherence.

About the Role

ESS Delivery and Comissioning Engineers play a pivotal role in transforming energy storage systems from blueprints into operational realities that function safely and reliably. Their responsibilities span the mid-to-late stages of project execution, centering on ensuring that systems are installed in accordance with design specifications and undergo systematic testing to achieve optimal performance and safety standards .

Responsibilities

• Participate in the commissioning, project delivery, and acceptance of large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
• Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, and defect resolution for battery containers/cabinets, including:Fire Suppression System (FSS),Liquid Cooling System (HVAC/TMS),DC Circuits (up to 1500V DC),Auxiliary AC Circuits (220V/400V AC),BMS Communication Systems
• Assist with the commissioning of PCS (Power Conversion System) and EMS (Energy Management System), with a basic understanding of their operating principles.
• Support on-site issue analysis, fault diagnosis, corrective actions, and issue closure together with the project team.
• Participate in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), grid connection testing, and project acceptance activities.
• Support customer training on system operation, maintenance, and product usage.
• Track commissioning issues through to closure and ensure projects are delivered according to schedule.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, After-Sales Service, Project Management, etc.) to resolve site issues efficiently.
• Comply with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) requirements and ensure safe execution of all commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above.
• Preferred majors include Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy Technology, or related disciplines.
• 1-3 years of experience in electrical equipment commissioning, energy projects, or related industries.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following areas:Basic knowledge of primary and secondary electrical systems;
• Energy storage systems, photovoltaic (PV) systems, and power systems;
• Basic principles of BMS, PCS, and EMS;
• Industrial communication protocols such as CAN and Modbus RTU/TCP;Communication networks and fieldbus technologies.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and communication topology drawings.
• Knowledge of BESS grid-connection processes, substation equipment, and power plant delivery procedures is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard office software.
• Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in English for daily work and on-site communication; Mandarin Chinese proficiency is required.
• Willingness to travel extensively and undertake long-term assignments at project sites overseas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), photovoltaic (PV), or wind power projects.
• Low-voltage and/or high-voltage electrical certification, or equivalent electrical qualifications.
• Experience working on international projects or in a multicultural environment.
