Job summary

ABYLSEN in Pontenure (Emilia Romagna, Italy) is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician - Automation sector to join its IT/Transport and Heavy Industry consulting team. The role focuses on maintaining automated systems and supporting multiple projects across our engineering network.

The candidate will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, robotics, and electromechanical equipment, read electrical schematics, and collaborate with automation and IT teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance of automated or industrial equipment (intralogistics, packaging, or manufacturing).
• Desirable knowledge of PLC-based systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley preferred) and electromechanical components (sensors, drives, actuators).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to work on shifts and provide on-call support when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated electromechanical systems, including conveyors, sorters, lifts, and robotic handling equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, and control issues in coordination with automation and IT teams.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and reduce downtime.
• Supervise and mentor junior technicians during maintenance activities and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, maintenance standards, and documentation requirements.
• Liaise with OEMs, contractors, and system integrators when required.

What is the challenge?
