Job summary

Deel seeks a Country Product Manager for Italy to own payroll, HR, and time-tracking product strategy. You will supervise an engineering squad, align cross-functional teams, and navigate Italy’s regulatory landscape. The role anchors Deel’s Southern Europe expansion and requires entrepreneurial thinking and strong stakeholder management.

You will drive a greenfield market entry, leverage AI to accelerate delivery, and ensure compliant solutions with local teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Experience building payroll or payroll product capabilities.
• Strong understanding of Italian labor law (CCNL) and INPS contributions.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams across product, engineering, and compliance.
• Fluency in Italian; proficient English for coordination.

Responsibilities

• Define the product strategy for the Italian market across payroll, HR, time, and services.
• Lead an engineering team to execute the roadmap.
• Coordinate dependencies across Product, Time, HRIS, and Services teams.
• Break complex requirements into iterative increments and ship fast.
• Own relationships with key accounts and validate solutions with customers.
• Collaborate with sales, implementation, and local compliance teams to enable scalable solutions.
• Think entrepreneurially to build a market entry playbook from scratch.
• Leverage AI to accelerate build and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Position Italy as the anchor market for Deel’s Southern Europe expansion.
• Based in EMEA with proximity to the Italian market.
• Fluent in Italian and English for coordination.

In this role you lead Deel’s payroll operations for Italy, acting as the founding product leader for a greenfield market. You’ll own end-to-end strategy with cross-functional teams to design payroll, HR, and time-tracking solutions tailored to Italy’s regulatory landscape. You’ll balance ambitious market timelines with prudent prioritization while leveraging AI to accelerate delivery. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape Deel’s Mediterranean expansion and drive cross-country product alignment.
