Job summary

Alcon is seeking a Commercial Excellence Junior Analyst Trainee to support the development and execution of commercial strategies. You will gain hands-on experience in data analysis, incentive management, and insights to optimize commercial execution using CRM and CommEx data.

The internship covers Italy and Iberia, lasts 6 months with a potential extension, and offers exposure to Salesforce and Einstein Analytics within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Pharmaceutical, or related quantitative field.
• Fluent in English and Italian; Spanish a plus.
• Strong data analytics skills.
• Proficient with Excel and CRM systems.
• Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support analysis to deliver actionable insights addressing business needs.
• Assist incentives process including quota-to-payout and President’s Club administration.
• Provide insights on commercial execution using CommEx data.
• Assist core CommEx processes: account profiling, segmentation, territory design, incentives.

• Review dashboards to monitor KPIs and enable data-driven decisions.

As a Commercial Excellence Junior Analyst Trainee, will support the development and execution of commercial strategies and processes that drive sales effectiveness and operational excellence. This position offers hands-on experience in data analysis, incentive management, and generating actionable insights to optimize commercial execution using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Commercial Excellence data. You will build effective relationships with Europe CommEx teams, and local associates to achieve goals.

You’ll be part of the local Commercial Excellence team, receiving guidance and training while gaining increasing independence throughout the internship. Please note that the scope of this role is for Italy and Iberia (Spain & Portugal) and this internship is a 6-month internship with the possibility of extension for another 6 months.

A Typical Day Might Include:

• Support conducting analysis and delivering actionable insights to address business needs.
• Support the local incentives process, including quota-to-payout and President’s Club administration.
• Support providing insights and recommendations on commercial execution based on CommEx data.
• Support execution of all core CommEx processes, including account profiling, segmentation, territory design, and incentive programs.
• Assist in training and onboarding for core CommEx platforms (e.g., Salesforce.com, Einstein Analytics).
• Review and track dashboards to monitor KPIs and enable data-driven decision-making.

What You’ll Bring to Alcon:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Pharmaceutical, or another related quantitative field
• Advanced proficiency in English and Italian; Spanish is a plus
• High learning agility and self-motivation
• Strong data analytics skills
• Experience or knowledge of Excel and other analytical tools
• Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus.
