JD.com is seeking a Category Manager for the EU Food team to develop assortment, pricing and supplier strategies across the region. The role emphasizes building strong partnerships and translating market insights into category actions.

You will work with Supply Chain, Marketing, Operations and Product to shape local assortments and drive growth. Fluency in Italian and English is required.

About The Team

You’ll be joining the JD.com team, which values collaboration, ownership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. We are seeking an ambitious and driven Category Manager to support the development and growth of our EU Food category, ensuring we provide customers with the right selection of products at competitive prices. The ideal candidate will have experience in category management, buying, merchandising or procurement, with a strong ability to build meaningful supplier relationships and translate market and customer insights into effective category strategies. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape category strategy and contribute to the growth of a dynamic and fast-growing e-commerce business.

What You Will Do

• Manage the end-to-end category management process, including assortment, pricing, supplier management, inventory and promotions.
• Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with key national, regional and local suppliers.
• Analyse category performance, customer demand, market trends and assortment gaps to identify growth opportunities.
• Build and continuously optimise the product assortment to meet local customer needs.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure healthy stock availability and inventory efficiency.
• Develop and execute category sales strategies, including pricing and promotional activities.
• Develop long-term category strategies tailored to local market needs.
• Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Marketing, Operations and Product teams.

About You

• Relevant experience in Category Management, Buying, Merchandising or Procurement, ideally within EU food.
• Strong understanding of customers, market dynamics, assortment and commercial principles.
• Experience in supplier management and building effective commercial partnerships.
• Strong analytical capabilities and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
• Highly driven, proactive and results-oriented.
• Fluent in Italian and English.
