Bid Strategy Lead — End-to-End Proposals

Job summary

SITA, a global air transport IT leader, invites a Bid Manager to join the CCM team in Truccazzano, Italy. You will own end-to-end bid/proposal activities, coordinate virtual teams, and drive best practices to win contracts.

You will analyse customer requirements, manage timelines, and supervise risk, quality, and compliance across unsolicited bids, RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs, partnering with sales and delivery to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a numerate, business or languages discipline or significant relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience within commercial industry, ideally IT, telecoms, air transport or managed services provision as Bid Manager or equivalent role.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience within the field of bids & proposals - in purchasing and/or sales - including exposure to the vendor side.
• Must have 2 years of Proposal Management, Bid Management experience.
• Relevant understanding of the airport and/or airline operation is an advantage.
• Experience in developing successful relationships at Senior Manager level.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and initiatives concurrently
• Clear understanding of proposal management processes including pre-proposal planning, strategy development and storyboarding, strategic proposal writing skills.
• Knowledgeable on MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc)
• Willingness to work in a dynamic, cross-functional and cross-culture team environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Bid/Proposal activities, including virtual team management and content quality.
• Lead proposal planning, risk analysis, and contingency planning to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate contributions from proposal centre staff and ensure clear storytelling.
• Manage regular bid reviews and Ensure training and alignment across teams.
• Validate opportunity qualifications and monitor status throughout the bid process.
• Perform tender analysis, identify terms, risks, and customer requirements.
• Develop win strategies aligned with customer needs and company guidelines.
• Oversee subcontractor/vendor coordination and contracting when needed.
• Communicate progress to senior management and stakeholders; escalate issues as required.
• Facilitate storyboard and pre-proposal planning meetings with account managers and bid team.
• Coach presentation teams for bid delivery and handover to delivery once won.
• Support pre-contract activities with the Sales team and underpinning contracts.
