Job summary

Maison Margiela, a Paris-based luxury fashion house, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in driving commercial performance, developing the team, and delivering an exceptional client experience.

You will lead by example on the sales floor, coach staff, manage CRM and clienteling, and ensure visual merchandising and store operations align with Maison Margiela guidelines. Fluency in Italian and English is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in leading the team and building a culture of performance, client excellence and engagement.
• Coach and motivate team members through feedback, development plans and targeted training.
• Participate in onboarding and performance reviews, addressing underperformance with the Store Manager.
• Promote collaboration and open communication, handling conflicts constructively.
• Work with the Store Manager to achieve sales targets through KPI monitoring and analysis.
• Translate commercial priorities into clear daily objectives for the team.
• Contribute to growing the store’s client portfolio and CRM/client retention targets.
• Support daily store operations, stock management and inventories, ensuring policy compliance.

Maison Margiela is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in driving commercial performance, developing the team and delivering an exceptional client experience.
As an ambassador of the Maison, you will lead by example on the sales floor and contribute to the smooth running of the store.

Your Responsibilities

Team Management & Development

• Support the Store Manager in leading the team and building a culture of performance, client excellence and engagement.
• Coach and motivate team members through regular feedback, individual development plans and targeted training.
• Participate in onboarding and performance reviews, identifying development needs and addressing underperformance alongside the Store Manager.
• Promote collaboration and open communication, handling conflicts constructively.

Commercial Performance

• Work closely with the Store Manager to achieve sales targets through regular monitoring and analysis of key performance indicators.
• Monitor individual performance and implement action plans to improve results.
• Translate the Maison’s commercial priorities into clear daily objectives for the team.
• Contribute to growing the store’s client portfolio and achieving CRM and client retention targets.

Store Operations

• Support the daily running of the store, coordinating activities and prioritising tasks to meet business needs.
• Ensure compliance with the Maison’s procedures, policies and service standards.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards in line with the Maison’s guidelines.
• Oversee stock management, inventories and the accuracy of store operations.
• Take responsibility for the store in the Store Manager’s absence.

Sales & Client Experience

• Build lasting client relationships through personalised service and a strong understanding of client needs.
• Lead by example in selling, styling and clienteling.
• Coach the team on sales techniques and client loyalty practices.
• Support the team in handling complex client situations and key sales opportunities.

Your profile

• Proven experience in luxury fashion retail, with previous experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor or Assistant Store Manager.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire and engage a team.
• A commercial mindset and confidence in analysing KPIs and turning insights into practical actions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage conflicts with professionalism and discretion.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and coordinate activities in a dynamic environment.
• A passion for fashion, an affinity with Maison Margiela’s creative identity and a commitment to exceptional client service.
• Experience with CRM tools, clienteling and store operations.
• Fluency in both Italian and English is required.
