Job summary

Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets seeks an Accounts Payable & Receivable Technician to be based in Milan on a full-time basis. You will process and record payments, receipts and cash movements across Italy and Europe, while supporting strong control environments and continuous improvement of finance processes.

You will collaborate with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders and contribute to an accurate accounting process, KPI reporting, and audit readiness in a dynamic insurance environment.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of end-to-end payments and receivables.
• Understanding of payment processing, reconciliations and general ledger activities.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish or German, both verbally and in writing.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Clear and confident communication with stakeholders.
• Planning and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
• Collaborative, proactive mindset and willingness to share knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the accurate and timely processing and accounting of operational and insurance technical transactions for the Italian and European business.
• Process and record premium, claims and commission payments and receipts, and other insurance cash movements.
• Process operational payments and receipts, including supplier invoices and employee expenses.
• Investigate queries, discrepancies and outstanding items through to resolution.
• Support balance sheet controls and reconciliations with complete records.
• Upload bank statements and clear open bank items in the general ledger.
• Support the annual audit with documentation and KPI reporting.
• Document processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
