Job summary

Role Description

The Welder role is a full-time, on-site position based in Coimbatore. The welder is responsible for performing different welding processes to join and fabricate metal components used in weighing and automation systems. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting engineering drawings, preparing materials, setting up welding equipment, and carrying out welds in line with safety standards and quality requirements. The role involves inspecting welds, making necessary adjustments, and collaborating with fabrication and assembly teams to meet production timelines. The welder also maintains tools and equipment, follows workplace safety guidelines, and supports continuous improvement in fabrication processes.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong welding skills, including Welding, Arc Welding, TIG Welding, and MIG Welding, with the ability to select appropriate techniques for various tasks.
• Candidates should have knowledge of Materials used in industrial fabrication, including properties, safety handling, and compatibility with different welding processes.
• Relevant experience in industrial or manufacturing environments, especially in fabrication of equipment or machinery, is highly beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, weld symbols, and specifications, with strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Solid understanding of workplace and equipment safety practices, including use of PPE and safe handling of tools and materials.
• Good physical stamina, manual dexterity, and ability to work standing for extended periods and handle moderate lifting as part of daily tasks.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and fellow technicians.
• Completion of a welding certification, technical training, or vocational course in welding or metal fabrication is preferred.
