Job summary

Lead Hr Services is seeking a Welding Engineer for Oragadam to oversee weld quality across shop floor stations and ensure adherence to customer specifications. You will drive process monitoring, record-keeping, and process development activities for welding gauges and tooling.

The role requires coordinating with production teams, validating welding certificates, and supporting training programs to develop welding personnel. Safety and quality controls are essential in this hands-on role.

Qualifications

• Experience with welding processes and quality controls.
• Familiarity with WPS, PQR, weld sequence reports.
• Ability to conduct welder skill development training.
• Acknowledge PPAP documents and weld process audits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure weld quality across all stations to meet customer requirements.
• Verify and establish WPS, PQR and weld sequence reports per standards.
• Conduct welder training (OJT, classroom, offline) and maintain training records.
• Maintain weld process parameter records and periodic maintenance of welding equipment.
• Lead weld quality audits and drive improvements in fixtures, gauges and tooling.

Roles and Responsibility

Deliverables: Process Monitoring/Weld quality/Rejection control

• Responsible for assuring weld quality across all weld stations in shop floor to meet customer specific requirements
• Responsible for verification & establishment of WPS, PQR & weld sequence reports as per required standard
• Responsible for conducting welder skill development training (OJT, Classroom & Offline training)
• Responsible for qualification of welding personnel & maintaining records
• Responsible for adherence of weld process parameter monitoring records in shop floor
• Responsible for periodical preventive maintenance of welding machine & ensuring daily monitoring of welding accessories
• Responsible for NDT inspection welds & assuring weld soundness.
• Responsible for process development activities in weld measuring gauges & tooling
• Responsible for periodical External weld characteristic audit of fabricated structures & production welds on individual stage weld stations
• Responsible for process improvement activities like welding jigs or fixtures, gauges, tooling, establishing weld process & procurement of accessories in existing & new product development
• Responsible for coordinating & achieving Weld Quality Management system (Weld QMS) as per customer specific requirement
• Responsible for establishing weld rework or repair procedures & assuring adherence for the same in shop floor
• Responsible for periodical adherence of Layered Process Audits (LPA) across weld stations
• Responsible for adhering personnel & operational safety as per Company Standard
• Responsible for verification & monitoring of weld related PPAP documents for existing & new product development
• Responsible for carrying out Weld Work Station Process Audits as per Customer requirement
• Responsible for adhering preventive maintenance of welding equipment's & accessories
• Responsible for interpreting weld matrix & weld volume calculations for New Product Developments
• Responsible for welder skill performance monitoring & control as per company requirements
• Responsible for validating Test Certificates of welding Electrode & Shielding gas for conformance
• Responsible for establishing Mechanized welding & Automated welding for various products on Shop
