Job summary

Career Tree Hr Solutions in India is seeking an experienced welder for a heavy fabrication role. You will prioritize safety, interpret blueprints, and apply GMAW, GTAW, SMAW and SAW welding processes to turbine and generator components.

The role requires at least 5 years of heavy fabrication experience, ITI welder or diploma, and the ability to train others, maintain equipment, and continuously improve departmental practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in heavy fabrication.
• Qualified in GMAW, GTAW, SMAW and SAW welding processes.
• Capable of groove welds (T joints, knuckle, corner and butt) for thickness 40 mm and above.
• Understanding of WPS/PQR/WPQ/WELD BOOK.
• ITI welder or Diploma with good communication and people skills.

Responsibilities

• Weld turbine and generator components using TIG, MIG, SMAW and SAW.

Job Description Role:

• Prioritize safety above all else by maintaining a rigorous adherence to safety standards and processes, ensuring that safety risks and issues are identified, reported, and addressed immediately. Understand and apply basic principles of Gouging & Welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) Follow methods, standards, and work instructions to: Weld turbines and generators components by applying appropriate welding techniques: Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Metal Inert Gas (MIG), Shielding Metal Arc (SMAW) and Submerged Arc Welding (SAW). Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding processes. Set up and operate welding equipment: select appropriate materials, prep work piece in accordance with part geometry, properties of material and scope of welding & repair Inspect completed welds to determine weld quality. Embrace a culture of respect, valuing inclusive teams and diverse perspectives to direct and train others as assigned, enabling the flow of information by inviting participation and responding productively. Approach daily work with continuous improvement in mind, working to continuously develop and improve department practices to reduce cycle time, improve machine availability and efficiency, and lower operating costs. Operate grinding machine to prepare chamfering of parts. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety. Basic Qualifications(requirements): Experience gained on job during professional life.
