Job summary

Marico is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager in Ahmedabad to oversee daily warehouse activities, ensuring timely, accurate goods movement and optimal space utilization. You will lead warehouse teams, manage inventory with WMS/ERP, and drive safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires 7–12 years in warehouse/logistics, preferably in FMCG or consumer goods, with strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, operations or related field.
• 7–12 years of experience in warehouse operations or supply chain.
• Experience in FMCG, Retail, Consumer Goods preferred.
• Exposure to WMS and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations including inbound freight, receiving, sorting, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch activities.
• Lead and supervise warehouse associates, operators, and supervisors; allocate daily tasks and monitor execution.
• Ensure accurate inventory records and stock visibility through WMS; conduct cycle counts and stock audits.
• Ensure strict adherence to warehouse safety standards and regulatory requirements; inspect equipment.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and cost reduction; monitor KPIs.
• Span the role of training and onboarding for new team members; drive performance and engagement initiatives.

Role & responsibilities

Warehouse Operations Management

• Oversee daily warehouse operations including inbound freight, receiving, sorting, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch activities.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of goods movement to meet customer and business requirements.
• Monitor warehouse productivity, turnaround times, and service level adherence.
• Optimize warehouse space utilization and operational workflows to improve efficiency.
• Coordinate with logistics, supply chain, and transportation teams to ensure smooth material flow.

Team Leadership & Workforce Management

• Lead and supervise warehouse associates, operators, and supervisors.
• Allocate daily tasks and monitor execution against operational plans.
• Manage shift schedules, manpower deployment, attendance, and productivity.
• Conduct training and onboarding for new team members.
• Drive performance management, capability building, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Inventory Management & Control

• Ensure accurate inventory records and stock visibility through Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Monitor real-time inventory movements and stock reconciliation.
• Conduct cycle counts, stock audits, and periodic inventory verification activities.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, damages, and stock variances.
• Implement inventory control measures to minimize losses and improve accuracy.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

• Ensure strict adherence to warehouse safety standards, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment.

Process Improvement & Reporting

• Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and cost reduction.
• Monitor and report key warehouse performance metrics including inventory accuracy, productivity, dispatch adherence, and safety compliance

Preferred candidate profile

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

• 7-12 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Experience in FMCG, Ecommerce, Retail, Beauty, Personal Care, or Consumer Goods industries preferred.
• Exposure to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and inventory control
