Job summary

Siera It Services is seeking a Server Management Administrator to deliver 3rd level technical support with a strong Linux server background. You will handle daily compute operations, server installation, maintenance, and decommissioning while ensuring adherence to ITIL processes.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with Azure/AWS/GCP clouds, Xen/VMware hypervisors, and familiar with LVM, DNS, LDAP, IPTables. Customer-facing skills and knowledge transfer are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 3rd level technical support in line with customer SLAs.
• Handle daily compute operations and ITIL processes for incidents and requests.
• Install, maintain, monitor, decommission servers and perform special configurations beyond automation.
• Manage storage operations based on NetApp NFS.
• Administer Azure Active Directory and create/manage VNets and subnets.
• Configure VPNs/ExpressRoute, Azure backups, Site Recovery.
• Lead root cause analysis for incidents and support knowledge transfer.

Role & responsibilities

Customer centric skills, communication skills, analytical skills, result driven approach and collaborative skills. These skills are essential to essay the role of a Server Management Administrator In addition, it's important that you recognize everything in the checklist below:

• Overall, 3 14 years’ Experience in Server Management Administration (Linux).
• Hand on experience handling responsibilities as SPOC. They should have both Technical and Customer facing experience.
• Should have client handling experience
• Experience in Server (physical/VM) installation, maintenance & decommissioning.
• Profound Linux OS operations experience.
• Knowledge in hypervisor operations (XEN and VMware).
• To have good knowledge in LVM, DNS, LDAP and IPTables.
• To have good troubleshooting skills in server down situation.
• Knowledge in physical server management.
• Hands-on experience with at least two cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Amazon Web Services (AWS), is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience with Pacemaker cluster is mandatory for L3 resources.
• Any knowledge for central infrastructure services is recommended and highly beneficial (Security
• Groups/RPM/Rsync/Mail/Active Directory/Chef automation/Nagios/repository management/Monitoring)
• Able to provide knowledge transfer from certain technology areas towards 2nd level technical support.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Deliver 3rd level technical support in compliance with customer SLAs.
• Daily Compute operations (Events/Incidents/SR/CR/RCA .) following ITIL processes
• Server installation, maintenance, monitoring, decommission and special configurations beyond automated tasks.
• Storage Operations based on netapp-nfs
• Package/repository management and OS image maintenance.
• Administer Azure Active Directory (AAD)
• Create and manage Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets, and network security groups
• Implement VPNs and ExpressRoute connections.
• Configure Azure Backup and Site Recovery.
• Root Cause Analysis for customer incidents
• Service/Task documentation, testing, quality management and knowledge transfer.
• Assist 2nd level technical support in complex tasks.
