Job summary

KMI Business Technology, a Mumbai-based IT services and office automation company, seeks a Service Engineer for field roles and office installations. • Configure MFPs to LAN and PCs; troubleshoot LAN and basic IT issues.

Job Description for Service Engineer

Role/Job Responsibilities:

1. Provide timely installation, repair, and preventive maintenance services for office equipment such as printers, laser printers, and multi-function devices (MFDs) as per customer requirements.

2. Monitor and control the consumption of spare parts and consumables (e.g., drums, toners) to achieve the targeted gross margin on a monthly basis.

3. Maintain and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as response time, downtime, first‑time fix rate, same‑day fix rate, call quality, productivity, gross margin, customer satisfaction, billing revenue, and contract penetration.

4. Lead a team of service engineers, if required, and ensure effective coordination and collaboration.

5. Generate revenue through consumables sales, annual maintenance contracts (AMCs), contract renewals, and spare parts sales.

6. Possess knowledge and expertise in colour printing technology and troubleshooting maintenance of MFPs.

7. Configure MFPs to local area networks and single PCs/workstations. Troubleshoot LAN and basic IT issues related to MFPs. (IT skills, CNE, and networking skills preferred)

8. Demonstrate exceptional product knowledge and the ability to provide effective product demonstrations for black‑and‑white and colour photocopiers.

9. Maintain daily and monthly production data for field‑repairable units (FRUs) and update the service operations records accordingly.

10. Collect feedback from clients and seek guidance from seniors to continuously improve service quality and customer satisfaction.

11. Collaborate with seniors to plan and implement service standards that align with field and company requirements.

12. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, dealers, and ensure their satisfaction. Demonstrate excellent teamwork and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
