Purchase Executive Shrimp Hatchery

About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchase Executive to manage procurement of feed, chemicals, broodstock, packaging, and other operational supplies critical to hatchery operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure hatchery inputs including larval feed, algae culture materials, probiotics, chemicals, disinfectants, water treatment products, and packaging materials
- Identify and evaluate reliable vendors/suppliers for broodstock, feed, and equipment
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
- Maintain optimum inventory levels to avoid production delays or overstocking
- Coordinate with the hatchery/production team to forecast material requirements based on production cycles
- Track market trends and prices of key inputs (feed, chemicals, broodstock) to ensure cost-effective purchasing
- Ensure timely delivery of materials, especially time-sensitive/perishable items (live feed, broodstock)
- Verify quality of received materials in coordination with the QC/technical team
- Maintain purchase records, vendor database, and documentation (POs, invoices, GRNs)
- Handle import/local purchase documentation as applicable
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships for long-term reliability
- Assist in budgeting and cost control for procurement activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline; degree/diploma in Aquaculture, Fisheries, or Supply Chain preferred
- 25 years of experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in aquaculture, agriculture, feed, or related industries
- Knowledge of shrimp hatchery inputs (feed, chemicals, broodstock) is a strong plus
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel/inventory software
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work under time pressure, given the perishable/live nature of some materials
Preferred Skills
- Existing network of suppliers in the aquaculture/feed industry
- Understanding of hatchery production cycles and seasonal demand patterns
- Basic knowledge of import procedures (if sourcing broodstock/materials internationally)
