Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

To plan, coordinate, and deliver nursing education and training programs to ensure that nursing staff maintain high standards of clinical practice, patient safety, and professional competency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct induction and orientation programs for newly joined nursing staff.
• Identify training needs and prepare annual/monthly nursing education calendars.
• Conduct regular training programs on clinical procedures, nursing protocols, patient safety, infection prevention, and hospital policies.
• Assess the clinical competency and skill levels of nursing staff through demonstrations, observations, and assessments.
• Conduct BLS/ACLS awareness and other clinical skill-based training as applicable.
• Ensure nursing staff are updated on changes in clinical practices, guidelines, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate competency assessments and maintain individual training and competency records.
• Conduct mock drills and simulation-based training for emergency and critical situations.
• Collaborate with Nursing HODs and clinical departments to identify performance gaps and develop appropriate training interventions.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, NABH requirements, audits, and patient safety programs.
• Prepare training materials, presentations, assessments, and educational resources.
• Monitor training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and post-training evaluation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, competency assessments, and training records.
• Participate in nursing audits and quality improvement projects.
• Mentor and guide nursing staff in professional development and clinical practice.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SOPs, infection-control standards, and ethical practices.

Educational Qualification

• B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration with the respective State Nursing Council.
• Additional certification in nursing education, BLS/ACLS, or relevant clinical specialties will be an advantage.

Experience

• 3 -5 years of relevant clinical nursing experience.
• Prior experience in nursing education/training is preferred.
• Experience in a multispecialty hospital is desirable.
