LATCHA is a fast-growing specialty matcha cafe brand with outlets in Bangalore and Hyderabad. We are seeking an HR Specialist who understands that cafe hiring is very different from corporate hiring and can own end-to-end recruitment for caf staff across our outlets.

You will manage the employee lifecycle, ensure smooth onboarding, maintain records on a centralized HR system, and help retain top talent to keep stores performing during churn.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of HR experience in F&B/hospitality is required.
• Strong focus on cafe/store staff hiring and onboarding.
• Experience sourcing for blue-collar/service roles.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end recruitment for cafe/store roles in Bangalore/Hyderabad.
• Build a passive talent pipeline to enable 24–48 hour replacements.
• Onboard new hires with proper documentation and induction.
• Maintain employee records on a centralized HR system.
• Track attendance and resolve churn risks with store managers.
• Coordinate payroll inputs and basic labor compliance.

Job Title: HR Specialist Talent & Team Management

About the Role

LATCHA is a fast-growing specialty matcha and dessert caf with outlets in Bangalore and Hyderabad, and more on the way. We're looking for an HR Specialist who's built for the F&B world someone who understands that caf and restaurant hiring is nothing like corporate hiring.

Staff don't always give notice. Replacements are needed in 2448 hours. A good hire can make a store's culture; a bad one can break a shift.

This role is the backbone of our people operations.

You'll own end-to-end hiring for caf staff across all LATCHA outlets, manage the employee lifecycle, and keep our teams stable, trained, and performing even through the inevitable churn that comes with this industry.

Key Responsibilities

Hiring & Talent Acquisition

• Own end-to-end recruitment for all caf and store-level roles - baristas, senior baristas, cashiers, and support staff across Bangalore and Hyderabad
• Build and maintain an always-active talent pipeline so urgent and last-minute replacements can be actioned within 24-48 hours
• Source candidates through job portals, local networks, walk-ins, references, and hospitality institutes
• Screen and assess candidates specifically for caf suitability - attitude, availability, physical stamina, customer-facing confidence, and reliability
• Coordinate interviews, trial shifts, and selection decisions with store managers
• Manage job postings across platforms and keep them updated at all times

Onboarding & Documentation

• Ensure every new hire is onboarded properly with ID verification, offer letters, and signed agreements before their first shift
• Coordinate induction and Day 1 orientation in sync with the training team
• Maintain clean and updated employee records across all outlets on a centralized HR system

Employee Management & Retention

• Track attendance, absenteeism, and punctuality patterns across outlets and flag concerns early
• Conduct regular check-ins with store managers to stay on top of team health and potential exits
• Identify flight-risk employees early and work proactively to address concerns before they become resignations
• Handle exit interviews for departing staff and identify recurring reasons for attrition to inform hiring and management decisionsCoordinate with store managers on scheduling, shift planning, and coverage gaps

HR Operations & Compliance

• Maintain payroll inputs - attendance, leaves, overtime, and deductions - and coordinate with accounts for monthly payroll processing
• Ensure compliance with basic labour law requirements - offer letters, appointment letters, PF/ESI registration where applicable
• Maintain clean documentation for all employees - contracts, ID proofs, agreements, and exit records
• Create and enforce basic HR policies around attendance, conduct, leave, and grievance escalation

Culture & Performance

• Support performance reviews and appraisal cycles for caf staff in coordination with store managers
• Recognise and flag top-performing staff for growth opportunities, pay revisions, or senior roles
• Help build a workplace culture that reduces unnecessary attrition - fair, respectful, and growth-oriented

What We're Looking For

• 2-4 years of HR experience, with at least 1-2 years specifically in F&B, QSR, hospitality, or retail - this is non-negotiable. Corporate-only HR backgrounds will not suit this role
• Strong understanding of caf and restaurant staff profiles - you know what a good barista candidate looks like before they've even been trained
• Experience managing high-volume, frequent, and urgent hiring cycles - you're not rattled when a store needs two replacements by tomorrow morning
• Hands-on with sourcing platforms used for blue-collar and service-industry hiring
• Organised and process-driven - you maintain clean records even when things are moving fast
• Excellent communication - you deal with candidates, store managers, and the founding team daily
• Based in Bangalore, with ability to travel to outlet locations when needed
