Job summary

Intercept Design in India seeks a skilled engineer to plan daily and weekly work for the design team, lead SolidWorks design efforts, and collaborate across teams on material choices and processes to meet geometrical and aesthetic requirements.

The role involves validating designs, leading design reviews and DFM analyses, releasing 3D models, drawings and BOMs for client approval and manufacturing, and coordinating procurement, trials, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily and weekly plans for the team members.
• Guide the team to carryout designs using Solidwork Softwares.
• Collaborate with the internal team on design, selection of right material and selection of right process for the projects along with geometrical and aesthetic requirements.
• Evaluate the designs and ensure compliance to design rules and guidelines.
• Conduct Design Reviews, Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analysis on client specifications & influence client specifications through design recommendations/suggestions.
• Check and release the 3D models, 2D Drawings and BoM for Client Approval and manufacturing.
• Identify and list the Standard, bought out components for procurement.
• Review and monitor the project status daily and report to management.
• Update the Client on Project Status as per agreed frequency after management approval.
• Carryout functional tests, trials and inspection taking internal and external support.
• Collaborate with Business Development Team for Client approval on Trials/Samples.
• Prepare Tryout / Inspection reports to submit to the Client.
• Co-ordinate delivery and related documents.
• Provide necessary concept sketches, schematic diagrams to address the New Proposal.
• Provide inputs on Development Cost and STD items cost to BD for C.O Proposal.
• Maintain RM Cost updated once in every 3 months.
• Maintain Process Cost updated once in every 3 months.
• Maintain Design/STD parts Library related to the Specified Project Category.
• Recommend new tools and technologies to meet the competition.
• Share new design ideas and methodologies with management.
• Maintain and coordinate the activities of documents and data controls.
• Provide Support/Guidance on all kinds of Development Process.
• Implement industry best practices in the 'F1' category projects related to Design, Development, Inspection and Tryout
